You thought golf clubs were all you needed for a round of golf? You thought wrong. If you want to start playing golf, there are some useful things you should have in your golf bag at all times. And even real must-haves that you can’t play without on the course. You can find out what belongs in a well-equipped golf bag here. <\/p>

The most important must-haves for your golf bag<\/h4>

The golf clubs are of course essential. You can have up to 14 different clubs with you during a game. For beginners, however, less is often more. Half a set is often enough. Which clubs belong in your golf bag depends on what you want to achieve, what the golf course is like and which clubs you are comfortable with. Individual advice from a golf club, a coach or a golf store is often worth its weight in gold. The following clubs are recommended as basic equipment for beginners: driver, hybrid, irons (6, 7, 9), sand wedge, pitching wedge and putter. <\/p>

Golf balls – and plenty of them<\/h5>

If you want to play on a golf course in Germany, you must take your own golf balls with you, as you are not allowed to take the balls you play on the driving range onto the \u201creal\u201d course. It is best to stow several golf balls in your golf bag as they can easily get lost during a game. You should always have 8-10 of them with you. <\/p>

Tees in different sizes<\/h5>

There should always be room for a few dozen tees in your golf bag. Believe me, you can never have too many tees. It’s best to keep them in different lengths to meet the requirements of different clubs and tees. <\/p>

Pitch fork<\/h5>

Sometimes a ball hits the green so hard that it leaves a dent. As a golfer, you are obliged to remove these dents as they can hinder other players. You need a so-called pitch fork for this – and it is essential, because if a marshal asks you about it, you must be able to show it, otherwise he may, in the worst case, send you off the course. <\/p>

Ball markers<\/h5>

If your ball is on the line of another player’s putt, you must take it out of the way. To make it clear where your ball actually lies, you must mark the original spot. So make sure you always have a ball marker with you. <\/p>

Golf glove <\/h5>

The golf glove is part of the basic equipment for many, as it provides a better grip and therefore more control over the club. It also prevents you from rubbing blisters on your hands during long games. <\/p>

Water or other beverages and glucose<\/h5>

Adequate hydration is essential, especially in hot weather or during long rounds. And believe me: golf can be quite a drag. You should therefore always have one or two water bottles in your golf bag. Many golf courses also offer drinking stations, but it’s always good to be prepared. Also pack some glucose or another sugary snack to be on the safe side. <\/p>

Pennies<\/h5>

Many driving ranges have machines that only accept coins. You can’t draw balls without the appropriate change. It is therefore advisable to always keep a few 1 and 2 euro coins in your pocket. <\/p>

Watch<\/h5>

A clock can help you keep track of time, especially if you have a set start time for your round. It can also be useful for monitoring how long it takes you to complete certain sections of the game. Modern golf watches offer additional features such as GPS and distance measurements to the holes. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

These things are useful in beginners’ golf bags <\/h4>

Sun cream<\/h5>

To protect your skin from harmful UV rays, you should always have a sun cream with a high sun protection factor with you. Especially in summer and on longer rides, it is important to reapply regularly to avoid sunburns. <\/p>

Cap or hat<\/h5>

A cap or sun hat often helps you to keep a cool head in the truest sense of the word. Adequate hydration is essential <\/p>

Training sticks <\/h5>

As a beginner, you first have to learn the technique: how do you stand correctly in relation to the ball? At what angle do you have to hit the golf ball so that it flies far? Alignment sticks can make this extremely easy for you. <\/p>

Golf ball retriever<\/h5>

When you start playing golf, your balls often fly all over the place. On the driving range you simply leave them lying around, but when you practise hitting out of the bunker, you have to collect all the balls again. A golf ball retriever is very useful for this. With the ball retrievers, you can pick up several balls without bending down and even fish them out of the water. <\/p>

Small towel <\/h5>

Many golf courses offer you the opportunity to clean your balls and\/or clubs at selected tees. However, it is advisable to take your own small towel with you so that you can wipe your balls and clubs regularly. This will prevent unnecessary dirt from getting into your golf bag. <\/p>

Cosmetics bag with deodorant and toiletries<\/h5>

A small bag with care products such as hand cream, chapstick, disinfectant, (blister) plasters or tampons should not be missing in your bag. <\/p>

Umbrella<\/h5>

We recommend that you always carry a small umbrella in your golf bag. These are also available in mini format and don’t take up too much space in your bag. <\/p>

Stroke counter<\/h5>

As a beginner, you often need several strokes to finish a course. So many that it can quickly become difficult to remember them all. It is therefore advisable to have a shot counter with you. With a counter, you can easily record your current score. <\/p>

Pencils and a notebook<\/h5>

As a beginner, the best way to learn is to take notes: How many strokes did you need for this course? How many less did you need two weeks later? What do you still find difficult? What are you already very good at? Having pens in your golf bag is also a good idea if you want to play a tournament to lower your handicap. <\/p>
