A long, precise pass from your own zone to move the game forward. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"assist\">Assist<\/h3>\n<p>The template for the goal. Like the buddy who gives you the perfect conversation starter on a date. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"attacking-zone\">Attacking Zone<\/h3>\n<p>The area where goals are scored (at least if you do it right). Located between the blue line and the opponent&#8217;s goal. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"attacker\">Attacker<\/h3>\n<p>The one who attacks. He runs backwards to help the defense. Rarely seen, but extremely popular!  <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"backhand\">Backhand (backhand)<\/h3>\n<p>A shot or pass with the back of the trowel. Works a bit like a backhand in tennis and is often difficult for the goalkeeper to read. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"bande\">Band<\/h3>\n<p>The playing field boundary made of wood or plastic. It ensures that the puck (and the players) stay in play. <strong>Caution:<\/strong> Can be damn hard on checks. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"barn-burner\">Barn Burner<\/h3>\n<p>An incredibly exciting game with lots of goals and pure action. A real spectacle that metaphorically set the place on fire. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"bench-minor\">Bench Minor<\/h3>\n<p>A penalty for the entire team because someone misbehaved or the coach was asleep. The classic: <strong>Too many men on ice<\/strong> (too many players on the ice). <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"bender\">Bender<\/h3>\n<p>A rather unflattering term for a player with an unclean skating style whose ankles bend inwards or outwards in the skates. Usually looks as wobbly as it sounds. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"blind-side-hit\">Blind Side Hit<\/h3>\n<p>A check from the opponent&#8217;s blind spot. Mean, violent and extremely dangerous. In most leagues, this is rightly punished severely.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"blocker\">Blocker<\/h3>\n<p>The goalkeeper&#8217;s rectangular, fat-padded glove, with which he casually deflects shots to the side.<\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"blue-line\">Blue Line (Blue Line)<\/h3>\n<p>The mark on the ice that separates the attacking third from the neutral area. When it comes to <strong>offside<\/strong>, this is where it is decided whether an attack is valid or not. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"blueliner\">Blueliner<\/h3>\n<p>A defender who patrols the blue line and either directs the play from there or fires shots like cannonballs.<\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"boarding\">Boarding (penalty)<\/h3>\n<p>When a player recklessly checks an opponent into the boards in such a way that they hit dangerously. Gives a good amount of time in the cooler. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"bodycheck\">Bodycheck<\/h3>\n<p>The epitome of ice hockey physics: using your shoulder or hips to fairly (or sometimes not so fairly) push your opponent out of the way.<\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"boxplay\">Box play (outnumbered)<\/h3>\n<p>When your team is short-handed because someone had to go to the penalty box. The lead \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cec81ba elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cec81ba\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeIn&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"C\">C &#8211; Ice field hockey terms with C<\/h2>\n\n<h3 id=\"center\">Center<\/h3>\n<p>The classic playmaker. He rushes up the middle, distributes the pucks and is the engine of the line. <strong>Special feature:<\/strong> He also bears enormous responsibility defensively and has to be wide awake at every face-off. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"clipping\">Clipping (penalty)<\/h3>\n<p>An extremely dangerous and unfair action in which a player attempts to pull or check an opponent below the knees. Anyone who risks the health of their colleagues in this way is immediately sent to the penalty bench. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"cross-checking\">Cross-checking (penalty)<\/h3>\n<p>The classic penalty: A player holds his stick with both hands and pushes the opponent away with the shaft. As the stick does not give way, this is painful and is usually immediately acknowledged by the referee with two minutes. <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"cup\">Cup (groin guard)<\/h3>\n<p>Probably the most important piece of equipment for every male player. The hard-shell protection protects the &#8220;crown jewels&#8221; from hard pucks and stray sticks. Once you&#8217;ve forgotten it, you&#8217;ll never make the same mistake again.  <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9ce182b elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9ce182b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeIn&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2 id=\"D\">D &#8211; Ice field hockey terms with D<\/h2>\n\n<h3 id=\"dangle\">Dangle (Deking)<\/h3>\n<p>The fine art of puck control. When a player moves the puck so quickly and skillfully that the defender can only see the back of the puck, he has &#8220;dangled&#8221; it. Also known as a <strong>deke<\/strong> (short for decoy). A real highlight for every highlight reel!   <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"dump-and-chase\">Dump and Chase<\/h3>\n<p>A tactical crowbar: instead of playing the puck into the third, it is simply shot deep into the opponent&#8217;s corner (&#8220;dump&#8221;). The forwards then sprint after it (&#8220;chase&#8221;) to put the opponent under pressure and win the puck back. Often the choice when the neutral zone is tight.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 id=\"d-zone\">D-Zone (Defensive Zone)<\/h3>\n<p>Short for your own defensive third. This is the area between your own baseline and the first blue line.
